Instructions for the Authors

The Symposium will include Oral Presentations and Poster Session.
The languages of the Symposium are English or French or Italian.
All accepted papers, both oral and posters, by the Scientific Committee will be published in full in the Proceedings of the Symposium. The Proceedings (with ISSN, ISBN and DOI codes) will be published as an e-book with color images. The off prints of the individual works (each with its own DOI) can be downloaded by the authors from the publisher’s website in electronic format.

The Proceedings will be published in the Series Monitoring of Mediterranean Coastal Areas: Problems and Measurement Techniques.

For best international diffusion of Proceedings the works must be written exclusively in English.

This collection of information it will allow to give greater diffusion both to your work and to the Proceedings.

The two filled forms and the full version of paper must be sent in MSWord and pdf format to the Scientific Secretariat (email simposio@ibe.cnr.it) by June 11th, 2024, in order to be published in the Symposium Proceedings.

Advice:  for the publication of works in the Proceedings, it must be paid the enrollment fee.

Works for oral presentation:

The presentation must be drawn up according to the following indications:
  • The slides must be in english.
  • The presentation can be held in English, Italian or French
  • Each speaker has 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions and answers.
  • Please prepare your presentation only using the Microsoft PowerPoint* (*.ppt) or (*pptx), or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) to guarantee that the presentation will open successfully on congress organizers’ PC.
  • We recommend:
    1. To prepare your presentation only in 16:9 format.
    2. The maximum size of the file must be 100 MB

    Posters preparation:

    Just to let to the authors the possibility of rendering the best graphical realization of poster, it only gives for preparation the following indications:
  • the maximum sizes are: height a 118 cm, width 84 cm;
  • on the top of poster: Title of Symposium, date and venue;
  • title of work, authors and affiliations.

    • It is suggested that authors prepare some small posters (maximum size A3) for distribution to interested people during Symposium

    The Scientific Committee will express an opinion about presented posters with regard to: completeness, clarity and immediacy of the poster presentation. The three best posters will receive an award plaque.

    DATES AND DEADLINES

    • 28 November 2023: Final deadline for abstracts (total length between 3000 and 4000 characters including spaces and if appropriate graphs or images can be included in the two sheets). Abstracts should be written according to the following form: Abstract template
    • 15 February 2024: Notification of acceptance or lack of acceptance; notification will specify whether works are to be presented orally or as poster communication. Information will be provided regarding guidelines for preparing the papers.
    • 11 June 2024: Opening of the Symposium and deadline for complete works. All presented works (oral and poster communications) will be published in full in the Symposium Proceedings. Complete works must be delivered at the beginning of the Symposium, otherwise they will be excluded from publication.
    • January 2025: Publication of Proceedings (with ISBN, DOI and ISSN code) as e-book with colour images is foreseen. The off-prints of the individual works (each with its own DOI) can be downloaded by the authors from the publisher’s website in electronic format.
